We come north through town to Loop 289 and out US-84, or run FM 179 north if the address sits west of the highway. Thirty-five minutes from the yard on a clear morning. Out past the city limits the county and private roads are caliche, so we ask about the turnaround before we commit a loaded truck — a farm gate that looks wide from the house is often tighter than a roll-off needs, and we would rather know before we are in it.
