40 Yard Dumpster Rental in Lubbock, TX

A 40 yard roll-off is 22 feet long, 8 feet wide and about eight feet tall — fourteen to sixteen pickup loads. Why people choose the 40 yard

Take the weight rule seriously, because it is the one people get wrong. A 40 filled with anything dense goes over legal weight while it still looks half empty, and at that point the driver will not lift it and the load has to come back out by hand. Concrete, brick, block, tile, roofing shingle, dirt, sod and caliche all run roughly 2,400 to 2,800 pounds per cubic yard, which means a couple of feet in the bottom of a 40 is already the whole payload. There is no version of a 40 that solves a heavy job. What it is for is volume without mass. Framing offcuts and sheathing on a build, siding and soffit coming off a house, cabinetry and millwork out of a kitchen or an office, fencing panels after a straight-line wind event, and commercial and retail fit-outs where display units, shelving, ceiling grid and partition walls all come out in the same week. Eight feet of sidewall holds a genuinely large volume of that material, which cuts the number of hauls on a site running to a deadline. Now the wind, because a 40 is a sail. Eight feet of exposed sidewall and forty yards of light material is the single worst combination for a Lubbock afternoon, and it is exactly the material the wind wants: insulation, cardboard, house wrap, plastic sheeting, siding offcuts. Cap the load with something heavy, keep every bit of it below the top rail so it can be tarped, and net or bag anything loose as it goes in rather than promising yourself you will deal with it later. Will it fit?

This needs the most room of anything we run. About 60 feet of straight approach at minimum, 10 and a half feet of width and a clear 20 feet or more of overhead for the hoist arm — and with eight feet of box under it, low limbs and service drops that cleared a 20 will not clear this. Most Lubbock residential driveways are the wrong home for a 40; it belongs on a job site, a commercial lot or a rural property with real space. Loading is through the rear barn doors, so leave working room behind it for a loader or a dolly run. Protection boards go down on concrete and caliche both, because this is the heaviest empty container we set. On county property, flag septic and well before delivery.
